On the last Wednesday of each month fellow bloggers Shay, Mel, & Sheaffer host a link up where everyone answers the same questions about what they’ve been up to each month. It’s always a post that I enjoy reading and like to participate in. Here’s what’s been happening in September.
What I’m Eating This Week… Veggie Pita Sandwiches. I absolutely love making pita sandwiches packed with fresh veggies. It’s one of my favorite quick meals and I’ve had them four times this past week! I load them up with fresh bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, banana peppers, lettuce, and onion. They are so delicious.
What I’m Reminiscing About… We celebrated my brother’s twenty-third birthday this past week! How is it possible that my little brother is 23? He’s certainly not so little anymore, he’s much bigger than me now, but he’ll always be my baby bro. We have a really special relationship and we still hang out and do lots of things together. He’s one of my best friends and we always have so much fun on our adventures.
What I’m Loving… Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment. Y’all this stuff is AMAZING!!! I’ve been hearing beauty bloggers rave about this product for a few months now and so I picked it up during the Sephora sale a few weeks ago. I’ve been using it for about two weeks now and my skin has never looked better. I’m totally in love with this product and it will be a regular part of my skincare regimen from now on.
What I’ve Been Up To… I’ve been spending a lot of time in the kitchen the past couple of weeks baking up new recipes for blog posts. I made Gluten Free Banana Bread as well as these Fall Leaf Maple Sugar Cookies and a few other recipes that are scheduled to post in the coming months. Tis the season to prepare for holiday entertaining!
What I’m Dreading… Yearly checkups for the pups. We are over a year past Lollypop’s diagnosis and I am anxious as to what they are going to suggest that we do. She has been seizure free for over a year but is still on two medications that have not been changed since December of last year. I think they may try to wean her off of one of them and it always makes me nervous to change things when everything is going so well. I’ll be sure to keep everyone updated here if there are any changes but please say a prayer that everything checks out great for both her and Aysia.
What I’m Working On… I had an idea to do thirty days of costumes on Aysia’s Instagram for the month of October. I’m trying to work out all of the details for those posts and hoping that I can pull it off. I’m also planning a few Nashville themed blog posts that I want to do as soon as the weather cools down a bit.
What I’m Excited About… Halloween! I LOVE Halloween. Not so much the scary spooky stuff but the fun part of celebrating a candy costumed holiday. I love carving pumpkins, watching Halloween movies, and handing out candy to the neighborhood kids on Halloween night. It’s always been a fun holiday for me.
What I’m Watching/Reading… Reagandoodle & Little Buddy: The True Story of a Labradoodle and His Toddler Best Friend. We follow Reagan the Labradoodle on Instagram and he sent Aysia advanced copy of his new book. I read the entire book as soon as I opened it and let me tell you, it’s so good.
If you aren’t familiar with Reagan let me tell you a little about him and the story behind the book. Reagan is a Labradoodle who lives with his mom Sandy and her husband. Sandy is the author of the book, however, the book is written as though Reagan is telling the story. Reagan’s human sister (Sandy’s daughter) and her husband began fostering a little boy that they call Little Buddy. The book tells the story of the meeting between Reagan and Little Buddy and the relationship that formed between them. It so beautifully emphasizes the importance of fostering and adoption as well as faith and family. Photos of Reagan and Little Buddy are weaved throughout the book to so lovingly show the bond between them. It also wraps up with the introduction of Baby Girl to the family. If you are looking for a really great book that will lighten your spirits but also tug at your heartstrings, this is definitely it! The best part about it is that a portion of the proceeds from the book is being donated to support children in foster care. You can pre-order a copy of the book here.
What I’m Listening To… Carrie Underwood’s new album Cry Pretty. It came out September 14th and it is very different from any other project that she has done. My favorite song is Love Wins.
What I’m Wearing… These necklaces by Dogeared. I love how dainty and pretty they are and they look great layered together. Each necklace comes on a card that says something about the design. I personally love giving them as gifts to special people in my life.
What I’m Doing This Weekend… If it doesn’t rain Christian and I are going to the zoo since he hasn’t seen the new additions. We were supposed to go the weekend of his birthday but it was HOT outside and neither of us thought the idea of sweltering in the heat sounded like fun so we pushed it back a week. Then it rained so we pushed it back another week. Hopefully, this weekend will be better weather and we will finally get to go.
What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month… Halloween, fall temperatures, and outdoor activities!
What Else Is New… The month of October is filling up quickly! There are so many festivals and events that happen in and around Nashville during October and I’m planning to attend as many as I can. Right now I only have one free weekend the entire month! I can’t wait to share everything with you.
