Day six of our Disney Christmas vacation started off in Hollywood Studios where we were surprised with a special Star Wars day and Brooklyn rode the Tower of Terror for the first time. We ended the day at Epcot where we dined with princesses and made our way around the world.
When we arrived at Hollywood Studios we were all given special Star Wars pins to celebrate the opening day of the new movie. We were also surprised to find out that there would be Star Wars shows and events happening throughout the park for the day.
Our first Fastpass was for the Tower of Terror but we had a little time before it started so we grabbed coffee at Starbucks and then browsed a few of the shops. We also saw the March of the First Order where the Stormtroopers marched down the street and put on a little performance on a stage in front of the Chinese Theater.
Brooklyn decided that she was going to ride the Tower of Terror for the first time today. She had been talking about riding it all week after she heard Branson and Brody talking about how fun it was when they rode. I do admit that I thought we would get up to the elevator doors and she would change her mind about riding but she wasn’t the least bit apprehensive. She hopped right on and put her seatbelt on ready to ride. I held her close to me since I wasn’t sure how she would react to the initial drop. It turns out she loved it! She giggled the entire ride and asked if we could ride again as soon as it stopped.
After our ride, we were supposed to use another Fastpass for the Rock n’ Roller Coaster but the ride was down so we decided to see if there were any other rides that didn’t have really long wait times.
Christian and the boys went to the Star Wars area to watch Jedi Training.
Mom, Dad, Brooklyn, and I went back to the Toy Story area and rode Toy Story Mania. When we got off of the ride Dad and Brooklyn got a photo with one of the Cars from the Cars movie.
The boys went back to check to see if the Rock n’ Roller Coaster was open and it wasn’t so they decided to ride Tower of Terror again. On their second ride, they all posed for the photo!
We met back up with them and Brooklyn wanted to ride the Tower of Terror again. This time she was super excited and knew what to expect so she threw her hands in the air and really enjoyed the ride. It turns out this was her favorite ride of the week which was really surprising to all of us.
When we got off of the Tower of Terror the Rock n’ Roller Coaster was back up so we used our Fastpass to ride. The boys were super excited but a little nervous once we got inside and they saw it take off. They both loved it although they both said that the takeoff was really freaky!
We had a dinner reservation at Akershus in Epcot that afternoon.
Aren’t they just the sweetest?!
Christian had to exchange a backpack that he had bought because it was not sewn correctly so Branson went with him to the store. The rest of us slowly made our way to the restaurant and got a few photos along the way.
Akershus is a character dining meal with the princess and it was our first time to eat there. When we entered we were brought into a room where we met Belle. Brooklyn was excited and the boys didn’t want to take a photo!
We were seated and our server came and took our drink order and then told us that we could head to the buffet where we would find appetizers to enjoy. There was a salad bar along with an array of cheeses, meats, and breads to choose from. Upon returning to our table our server took our dinner order and then the princesses began arriving.
First up was Cinderella and then Aurora who questioned the boys on whether or not they had seen any dragons that day. Snow White came along and was the only princess to get the boys to take a photo with her.
After our dinner plates were cleared we waited for dessert!
Dessert was served ‘family style’. Two plates were brought to the table with three different desserts to sample. Brooklyn loved the chocolate mousse!
After dinner, we decided to walk around the World Showcase. Our first stop was China where the kids really enjoyed looking at all of the different items in the stores.
We made our way around through the different countries stopping in Germany, Italy, Canada, and Japan.
Brooklyn fell asleep in the stroller before we made it to France.
The boys had fun with the hats at a store in France.
And Branson made a furry friend.
They also couldn’t resist trying the sorbet which was absolutely delicious!
When we exited the World Showcase dad wanted coffee so he, mom, and Brooklyn went to Starbucks while Christian and I took the boys to the Coke-a-Cola store to try out the sodas from different countries. You can see their reactions to each drink in the video at the end of this post. One of them is really bitter and always funny to watch people try for the first time!
On our way out of the park, Christian had to get a photo in front of the Stitch topiary since that’s his favorite character.
